Our standard amenities are 20/30/50 amp power, septic, water, strong wifi with streaming Spectrum TV, and generous 50x60 sites (approximate). No pool. Instead of a destination park, we are a quiet park for guests to enjoy a relaxing home base for the various area activities. We'd love to see you!

We clean regularly and ask that you leave it clean and ready for the next guests. Coin operated laundry takes quarters. There's a change machine and vending for washing products. Please don't leave laundry unattended and clean the dryer lint trap when you're finished.
We offer month-to-month stays for certain situations - building a house, looking for land or house, temporary work, seasonal - which qualify as non-accommodation rental in NC. We may do a random background check. Sorry, because of zoning in Burke County, we cannot offer annual, long-term or permanent stays. There is a $200 deposit required at booking to hold a reservation which will be returned on departure or applied to penalties, delinquent rent, damage, or trash on the site after departure. THIS DEPOSIT IS SEPARATE - NOT PART OF YOUR FIRST MONTH'S RENT.
On arrival, we invoice a full month, then invoice every 30 days thereafter. The last invoice is prorated for any extra days.
Although we own land all the way south to the Catawba River, there is a high bluff overlooking the river and a road that loops around to the homes behind the park. At this time, we are not allowed to build any structures on the riverbank. It's very steep down to the water from the bank.
We have a 10% discount for documented Veterans, Active Military Personnel, Active and Retired Law Enforcement Officers. We do not have discounts for AAA, AARP, Sam's Club, or other membership organizations. Be sure to let us know your status when you make a reservation - sometimes we forget to ask.
Absolutely! However, after some bad experiences, we have a limit of 2 dogs under 50 pounds. Cats and other pets aren't usually outside, so there are no limits there. We love dogs, but not barking, digging, and poop. An adult must be with them at all times with them on a physical leash, line, or crate kept on the gravel. It doesn't count if you tie them outside to watch them from inside your RV. They must be inside your RV when you leave without them to work or go out.
We're a small park with only 42 RV sites, so we don't have an onsite office or store. We do "touchless" check-in and check-out, but we're easy to reach. Shopping is very close and Walmart and other delivery services come to us. The town of Glen Alpine is only about 1.5 miles with a great post office, dollar and convenience stores, and more. Morganton is a good-sized city only 4 or 5 miles to Walmart, restaurants, pharmacies, etc.
With winter coming in, we cannot allow RV skirting. Our zoning requires that every RV appears temporary and ready to depart. We can have month to month guests but no structures or additions to sites. We get that question especially from guests from the northern states, but our weather is relatively mild. We protect our amenities like water supplies against freezing, but it is the guests' responsibility to protect the septic and water connections to their RVs. Please use heated tapes and do not let the water run continuously as a solution. Thanks!
Yes. We're a finished RV park with large sites and gravel pads, but will continue to make improvements by adding trees, landscaping, cement pads, and general improvements to the park. We plan a Pavilion on top of the bluff overlooking the Catawba River for your general enjoyment and larger special events. Cabins, park models, tree houses, etc. are in the future development plans.
Bearing left after entering the park, the first road is for RVs on Sites 01 to 29 with back-ins on the left and pull-thrus on the right. The second road is for RV departures from 20 to 29, arrivals right Sites 30 to 37. The third road is for RV departures from 30 to 37, arrivals right Sites 40 to 45. The fourth road is for departures from 40 to 45, arrivals right for back-in sites 50 to 55.
Traveling inside the park, try to travel south towards the bathhouse/laundry. There will be times you need to go against the traffic to drop rent off at the shop or go meet one of our staff.
Everyone, just go 5 MPH and keep your eyes open.
We're a small park with few employees, so our NewBook reservation system has many automated functions. You will receive a text shortly before your arrival and departure. Come in, hook up, and respond Yes to check in. When you're ready to depart, respond Gone. The system will check you in and out, plus let us know your status. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

We don't have an office or store at the park. Any time you have a question or need help, we try to be available. You can text or call us at (828) 228-6882 and we'll notify our park staff. You may get group texts from NewBook (828) 608-1413 and can reply, but text (828) 228-6882 for faster attention.
Please don't assume if you talk to Pat or Wendy about changes in your plans, etc. that it passes to the reservations/billing system. They often think you're just sharing. 😄 Let us know by text or call.

You can receive packages addressed to a registered guest followed by your Site #, c/o River Pointe RV Park, 971 Watermill Glen Alpine Rd., Morganton, NC 28655. Sometimes they will be delivered to your site by the carrier, sometimes left at the Shop. We'll bring around packages delivered to the Shop. If a small package left in our mailbox, we'll bring it to you when we check the mail. Feel free to check by text to Pat or Wendy if you're notified of delivery but haven't received it yet. We are not responsible for delivery problems or packages/mail for departed guests.
Since we can't serve as a permanent residence, we can't accept mail for guests. You can arrange package and mail pickup with UPS downtown Morganton. Also, we met with the Glen Alpine Post Office (only 2 miles away) and they are happy to help. You can set up free General Delivery for a 30-day period. You can get a PO box in Glen Alpine cheaper than Morganton by showing a copy of your statement or receipt from the park. Kathy is happy to give you one if you don't have a printer. If you think mail was accidentally forwarded to the park or you're missing something, let her know.
Our Spectrum WiFi is strong and includes streaming cable TV delivered through WiFi, not a physical cable. The wifi streamed TV runs best through a Smart TV or ROKU device which gives you more channels than the Smart TV. We can loan or sell you a ROKU if you need it or don't have a Smart TV. Let Kathy know. Spectrum doesn't work with an Amazon FireStick. We've had guests working from their camper with no problems. WiFi boosters don't improve your signal and may cause problems with your reception. You'll receive an email with the password, online help pages, and Spectrum numbers before your arrival.

Actually, we prefer credit cards and adding debit cards and ACH payments soon. The fee we're charged is well worth the automatic deposit and posting to our NewBook system while making sure your account stays accurate and up to date. There's only one Kathy and she gets swamped. 😎
There is a secure lockbox installed in the door on the north side of the big shop building. For cash, please use an envelope with your name, site, pay period, and the amount enclosed. There are envelopes and a pen there if you need one.
If you think everything is fine with that card, it may be verification of the CVV or address information with information in our database. Processing Transactions where there is a mismatch on both ZIP and Address will result in an auto-decline. Transactions will also decline if the ZIP mismatches and address matches.
Sure! We can set up a company account attached to yours and issue your invoices and receipts to the company name. We can also invoice directly to your company accounting department by email if your charges will be paid by them.
